Presentation at the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics (Oral + ePoster)

November 23, 2025

I presented my research on vortex–surface interactions at the American Physical Society – Division of Fluid Dynamics (APS DFD) meeting, the largest international conference dedicated to fluid mechanics research. The conference brought together leading researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry. Presenting my work provided an opportunity to receive technical feedback, discuss modeling and experimental challenges, and engage with emerging developments in vortex dynamics and free-surface flows.

Presentation Highlights

  • Presented experimental investigation of counter-rotating vortex interaction with a deformable free surface
  • Discussed experimental methodology and instrumentation design
  • Engaged in technical discussions on vortex-induced surface deformation
  • Networked with researchers working in turbulence, multiphase flow, and vortex dynamics

Conference Experience

Beyond the presentation, attending APS DFD allowed me to:

  • Explore new research in turbulence, instability, and multiphase flow
  • Attend invited talks by leading fluid mechanicians
  • Connect with graduate researchers and faculty across institutions
  • Gain perspective on current research trends in fluid mechanics
